wow. G22 is my baby. hope that doesn't happen to mine. I think I'd be pretty shaken up after that.

the one and only problem I've ever had with mine was my own fault.
the first full detail strip that I attempted, I put the trigger pin back in first instead of the locking block pin and it caused the slide stop lever to lock the slide back after each round.

about 5 minutes on youtube and 1 firingline thread later and I corrected the mistake.

I try to inspect mine periodically to make sure there's no crud anywhere, especially spots that could cause a firing malfunction. so far, keeping the extractor and the firing pin spotless at all times seems to be the most important part. other than that, I've gotten by pretty well with general maintenance and cleaning.

this post still feels kind of eerie, though, because my G22 is the same age, with almost the same number of rounds through it. I got mine new in august and I think I have around 1000-1200 rounds through it.
