From the IDPA rule book:
Sights: Only conventional notch and post type sights are permitted
for IDPA competition. Sights may include tritium inserts, fiber
optic inserts, white dots, etc.
I just bought a front fiber optic sight for my Glock 22 and asked one of the old
heads about exotic sights and he warned me off.
