with the AR pistol platform you can get a pseudo cheek weld with a carbine length buffer tube. It's more practical than the flat back of the AK receiver, anyway. If I were looking to eventually SBR the thing I'd get the AK in 7.62 because of ammo. If I could have anything and logistics didn't matter it would be the AR in .300 BLK as a pistol while I wait for the SBR form to clear.
