The hinged floorplate is a non-issue for me. If designed right they are handy, but not necessary. Remington bottom metal on newer guns is so bad I would just as soon not have one on a Remington.
Between the 2 I think the Weatherby is the best gun, but I cannot bring myself to buy a nearly 8 lb rifle when there are plenty of much lighter rifles that will get the job done. Find an older Remington and I would recommend it. I would keep looking.
