You aren't going to find an AR that you can keep as dry as a Glock and still have it function at that level. If you want a quality, top of the line AR then my vote goes to Colt or Daniel Defense (not in that particular order). Yes, they are a little over $1,000 but that is what they are worth and in the current market you will probably pay even more than you would have about 6 months ago.

And while you may like iron sights, I would bet that you will quickly want to add an optic. Either an Aimpoint, Eotech, or a 1-4x optic would serve you well.
