I would not call the M&P 22 magazines especially cheap. For as simple as they are, they cost about the same as other full size semi auto pistol magazines. You're looking at about $30 each. Fortunately, they at least seem to be a little more readily available finally than they were when I got mine. It took me over 6 months to find an extra magazine.
