I havent loaded any 148's for a while, but the last ones that I did were 3.0 of 231. My "standard" 38 load is the 158 grain swc and 4.5 of 231. Both are out of the Winchester manual. Same manual lists a number of .40 loads using 231. You can get one at any gunshop or from their webpage.
