There is one caveat to whether to have a "carry handle" or not: you are required to have one if you ever plan to compete in Service Rifle matches with an AR-15. Because I use my National Match (NM A4) RRA rifle with a scope in the "off" season for varmint hunting, I like the idea of having a removeable handle (which is an approved configuration in NRA sanctioned Service Rifle events). Just something to think about and consider when deciding on the purchase of an AR-15 if you ever think you might want to compete in a Service Rifle match.
