I swapped out a Simmons ($60) 3x9 on my 30-30, with Rifleman and really couldn't tell much difference. Only good thing I guess, is that I got the Rifleman on clearence ($120) at Wal-Mart.
I agree with Doyle, go for the Leupold VXII or maybe a Nikon. Just my $.02
