I doubt you could ever over-polish brass.....
I leave mine tumbling overnight all the time, using 60/40% mix of walnut/corn with Frankford Arsenal (MidwayUsa) polish..... that brass comes out so damn clean, sometimes I feel bad about loading it and shooting, it looks so nice and purty!!!
