One of the things that stops me is the inability to pour a concrete base at our range- everything I did to set it up would be strictly temporary.

Is is worth it to use a Ransom under such conditions?

Isn't the value of the thing the absolute repeatability?

Seems like when you throw it up on a bench that moves, rather than bolting it to concrete, you loose a lot of the value.
