A K-22 / model 17 is chambered in 22LR. If it's a 38 special then it's a K-38 / model 14.
The serial number (K20XXX) dates it to 1948. For that time period the same serial number should also be on the underside of the barrel and back of the cylinder.

Side note: A K-22 / K-38 from early 1948 would likely have a tapered, thin barrel. Is there only 5 digits after the "K" in the SN or 6?
