It has always been my suggestion to have any of these finishes done only by companies that have an excellent reputation and long time experience in coatings on guns . They are not DIY projects.!
It's very easy to do the wrong thing and have the plating flake off or have other problems. I say this as a metallurgist with some knowledge and experience with plating.
