You can do no better than a used quality glass, like a Leupold - many of which I've purchased for less then $150, some less than $100.
If there's slim pickings in your LGS', try
www.swfa.com which has a used/reconditioned scope selection, besides about the lowest prices available online.
(I've bought several scopes from SWFA, over the years - w/o any complaints/issues)
