I agonised over my CZ 452 subtype, looked at the heavy barrelled Varminter for a while and went with an iron-sighted (and accordingly longer-barrelled) version in case I dropped it and smashed or unzeroed the scope, accepting the drawbacks as I did so. IMO they spoil you for everything else (short of dedicated target rifles) once you've owned and used one.
