Making bullets from Pennies....

Legal issues aside, has anyone tried making bullets from pennies?

I don't suppose it's analogous to the gilding metal bullets from Barnes, Hornady(?) etal., but would it work? Is there a DIY alloy that would reduce the galling effect of the copper in a barrel?

I'm thinking 9mm, .45ACP, and maybe a few rifle rounds in the 30 cal range.

Maybe more academic than practical, but as Mulder said, "The answer is out there..."
