I use Lee 451 ball molds too

I dont do either.... I just roll the finished balls out of the mold into water.... take them out, let them dry & roll them in some Inox/WD40 then throw them in the container to take them to the range. The Inox or WD40 keeps the balls shiny & smooth (dont end up dull gray & 'fuzzy') and by the time I use them, the Inox or WD has all but gone (the balls are dry) so the powder doesn't get damp at all.

When I press them in the cylinders (ROA & Pietta 1858) the cylinder sizes them, the forcing cone takes care of the rest

Make sure you just use lead.... not wheelweights or bullet alloy.... plain old lead, nothing more (nice & soft)

I dont use grease or wax over the end of the cylinders, a nice tight fitting ball (with no wrinkles) wont get chain fires.... I have never had one in the 6 years I have been shooting Bp
