I put 2000 rounds threw a .22a with a $30 red dot and it was very accurate as well as reliable. Im not the best shot, But 2" groups at 50' with 10 rounds was nothing hard to do.
I liked the Bull barrel ones the best. You may be able to find a used Ruger MK3 for $250
You can get a Walther P22 for about $259, But i doubt it would have the accuracy unless you got the 5" version which cost more.
The Berretta Neos is in your price range and a very accurate gun and well liked.
