I like my new M&P .45 FS. Meets or exceeds all my demands and offers more. It has great egro's and a lawyer trigger out of the box. Trigger can be fixed real fast and easy with a stone and some thought.
If you want to spend more money than the pistols are truly worth. Americans are kind of stupid like that you know. Get a $1500 to $3000 1911 and stick you thumbs in your lapels as you get the old corn hold put on in your wallet area.
If not and you still want a 1911 put the brakes on cost at $1000.
If you want to keep it at $400 to $600 there are a lot of good honest pistols out there. Heck you can even get some nice .45 revolvers if you shop wise.
Lets say you buy a $500 M&P, XD or Glock. You can buy a lot of ammo with the savings and end up shooting better than some of the elite 1911 owners. Or you could invest in a reloading setup to custom tailer your ammo to your pistol and save some bucks and shoot even better.
Best .45? thats like asking whats the best chocolate.
