I'm using my Savage 110/.270 as my mountain gun. I find that it carries extremely well, weight, balance, overall feel and a respectable cartridge which I have full confidence in. Most folks around here go out primarily for Elk and carry 7/300/338 mags. When I mention carrying a .270 they usually just smile and nod in approval.
