I've read nothing but good things about both. Having had both myself, my Savage 10 was more accurate than my SPS Tactical. They were .223 rem.

Today, I have a Savage 10 HS Precision and a Rem XCR Compact Tactical. Both are .308. Both are good shooters. My Rem has produced sub 1/2" groups, while my Save hasn't, yet....
