Any other recommendations other than DPMS? I'm looking for 7mm-08 ideally and I would like to explore some options.
Just to clear up my situation, the .280 I have is an older Remington model 740 from the 50's that I have used for hunting deer for the past 20 years. The 7 mag is more of an heirloom gun that I don't plan on dragging through the brush anytime soon, if ever.
I have considered a stainless bolt action rifle with a composite stock as a mountain gun but I'm really liking the idea of a semi auto in the AR-10 platform instead. Less recoil = more fun.
