I only have one shotgun, it's a 12ga pump w/ 28" vent rib barrel, so that's what I use and it will do the job. If I had nearly unlimited disposable income I'd get a nice O/U and a semi for the purpose and doubt I'd ever go back to a pump for the purpose of clays, skeet, trap, birds, etc...but a pump is fine for it if that's what you have an can afford
