I don't mind the safety grip on my XD. Then again it's my first gun so I really don't know anything else.
I understand people's reasoning for not liking it. It seems kinda pointless but at the same time I don't mind it. Some instances I like it. Like when moving it to/from my safe. I always have the gun holstered but you never know when it might slip out or something stupid happens. Guess that extra step doesn't hurt.
