BillyJack, I am not sure what the mount is. My Brother in Law gave it to me earlier this year. It is a small rail, that attaches to the front sight post. The ring has an insert to fit the Surefire light.
When I hold the rifle, my left thumb is naturally in position to push the on switch, so there was no need to modify my hold.
