Oh, and to the original question, I'd probably take the Colt if I didn't already own an AR, Vepr if I did already have one. The Colt is more versatile and cheaper to shoot. The Vepr is a top notch AK but still will have the same troubles as a cheaper .30 cal AK: namely, bad sights, harsher recoil impulse, and stringing shots as the barrel heats up.
