Thanks, George. The mainspring and hammer appear to be clear, FWIW.

The owner of the range where I practice thought the problem was pretty odd, as well, but he duplicated it.. took a fresh cartridge, cocked the hammer, pulled the trigger, click. Pulled the trigger in DA, bang.

Knew I shoulda stayed with a slidegun...
