If you're looking for something similar to the xd, the folliwing are all striker fired polymer framed pistols;

S&W SD
Ruger SR9
Walther PPX

I feel like I'm forgetting some, but thoae should all be able to be had new in your price range. If you are opened to used, your choices are much much broader.
