Yea... they designed a claw extractor to snap over the rim. It was a stupid idea then, and remains a stupid idea. I love my M77 tang safety, but rim snap-over with a claw extractor is annoying (even with a claw extractor
designed for it).
They could have gone with controlled-round-feed, quite easily. But, we got stuck with a claw extractor that has to snap over cartridge rims.
