Colt 'O' and Smith 'K' frames.
One of each would be fine. After that they can own anything they wish.
I grew up with a Colt Commander .45 and a S&W M10 .38.
Of course now I'd wish for a Government .45 and a 2 1/2 19 Combat Magnum.
Anyway a good couple of classics ought to be the basis for ones setup.
