Will work nicely.

I've killed a truckload or two with a muzzleloader pushing a 240-250 grain saboted bullet at speeds of 1600 fps or so. You're just about guaranteed that your round will still be traveling faster than mine was when it reaches the deer due to it's better sectional density being a heavy .30cal vs. a .45cal
