Browning A5 Sweet Sixteens

I have two Sweet 16's , one was grandfathers and the other my great Uncles. Both are in great condition and are both shooters. I would like to recondiotion the wood on both guns. Would this be something i should take to gunsmith or can I tackle it on my own. I have already redone the stock and fore end on a old Ithaca Deer Slayer, and came out decent. Any thoughts or tips would greatly be appreciatted.
