I feel your pain.
Progressive lenses in eyeglasses are supposed to offer almost unlimited clear sight for the wearer no matter what the distance. Head position is important. It can be very annoying when trying to use a scope. I have opted to wear plain bi focal lenses. Upper portion with correction for distance, lower portion for reading.
