I've been through a bunch of revolvers, and a few auto loaders, in my time. Bought most just for the first hand learning experience. The Single Action revolver has always been my pick of the litter. Now I'm trying to phase out my double action revolvers and replace them with Single Actions. Just acquired my two most sought after, the Colt New Frontier in .44 Special. Need to have a transfusion in my funds, but thinking about:
1. A Hammerli made Virginian, .45 Colt 4 3/4" to 7 1/2" barrel.
2. Colt New Frontier, .45 Colt, 4 3/4"
3. A Ruger three-screw Blackhawk, .357 Magnum, 7 1/2" barrel.
4. Colt New Frontier .357 Magnum, 7 1/2" barrel.
My use for a 7 1/2" barreled .357 Magnum single action has diminished over the years, but still would like to wring one out. Same goes for a similar gun in .32-20.
Don't hunt anymore, most of my hunting buddies are all dead and buried. And my range companion and I are the only two left alive of that group.
But I still want to wring out a few more single actions!
