Hard to beat USA made Danners. They aren't cheap, $250 or so, but they will last for years.

Exactly what you're going to use them for would help. In addition to Danners I've found some of the better quality hiking boots to be the best value in quality comfortable boots. You can often find really good hiking boots cheap just because last years boot is a different color and is discounted when this years boot comes out.

I backpack, hunt, and work on a volunteer Search and Rescue team. Walking 15+ miles a day, for days at a time in steep terrain is common. I'm currently wearing this.
