I did 2 pork butts on mine saturday, sure was good gonna eat leftovers all week. The UDS is a set it and forget it design, hence the charcoal basket.
My other smoker is a laid down 500 gal water tank, I use a 55 gallon drum cut in half long ways with 4 feet on it inside the large drum for my wood fire, it will do a whole hog and then some. It is a mess with it every 2 hours kinda cooker.
Menards has a green egg look a like for 300 or so.
Living out in the country means I dont have to share
with the neighbors altho they do seem to drop by at the right time. Is why I smoke 2 butts
