Many times Mag prices are dictated by how many folks supply them. 1911 Mags are produced by tons of manufacturers cause all 1911s basically use the same mag, regardless of what brand it is. Thus 1911 mags are fairly easy to find and reasonably inexpensive, even for the highest quality. Brand and model specific mags are generally produced only by or for a manufacturer and very few aftermarket companies compete for their market....thus a higher price. When it comes to this scenario and cheap aftermarket mags, you generally get what you pay for. The exceptions are in cases like the iconic Ruger 10/22 which has to be one of the most prolific firearms ever made. Stick with the manufacturer or other reputable manufacturer, pay a few dollars more and have something you can trust and use at the range without hassle.
