Having owned handguns for over 30 years, as you mentioned in the OP, don't be concerned about the often mention snappy "bite" of the recoil. On our first date at the range my Elsie and I enjoyed over 100 rounds of ammo. From Winchester white box to Speer Good Dot. I suffered no I'll effects, and in fact it was quite fun shooting.
Every type of ammo I have tried, offerings from all major
makers, have worked perfectly. Accuracy has been acceptable, If not surpprisingly good with all. My final choice for carry is Hornady Critical Defense.
