I don't hunt with a slug gun, but have a 20" IC choked slug barrel with iron sights for my 870. With standard old cheap slugs I can keep 3 shots inside 4-6" at 100 yards. No where near as good as my scoped rifles, but I think I'd be able to take a deer inside of 100 yards with it if needed.
