Marlin is about the last holdout for tube fed bolt 22s. I have a 983T I bought 4 years ago and it shoots like a target rifle. The new bolts from Marlin have a better trigger or some such.

A search on gunbroker will get you lots of choices for older 22s with a tube feed. Plus the older guns will have all steel and wood stocks. Don't worry about the age. Its hard to wear out a 22 barrel.
