There was nothing slow about it. If I didn't know better, I'd have assumed Jones was hopped up on something.
Morgan worked it perfectly. He played the quiet, civilized host who was pounced by the irate, intemperate "gun guy."
Say what you will in Jones' defense, he allowed himself (and, by extension, us) to be lampooned in a huge way. The average uncommitted viewer is going to view that segment in a vacuum, and it's a huge public-relations disaster for us.
ETA: Morgan made a statement today
that Jones' appearance was "the best advertisement for gun control you could wish for."
