In another thread, I'm seeking advice on my choice between a Colt XSE and a Dan Wesson. But this current thread is a different question.

I'm thinking about buying my son a Ruger SR1911. The only thing is, we aren't real keen on the 8 round mag for this pistol, the way it sticks way out the bottom. Are there other makes of an 8 round mag for this gun that don't stick out so much, perhaps a little more streamlined and fitting tighter to the bottom of the gun?
