A salesman at a Dick's in Denver told me they pulled all the ARs from all their stores and will no longer sell them, he thought, ever.
Ten bucks says Dicks just sold them back to their distributor(s) at a huge profit. We all know their gun counter was pretty mediocre before (though I did get a good deal on an O/U months back), heavily focused on hunting rather than "tactical" stuff. I'm sure Dicks had been contemplating this move for months as black rifle sales lagged their other sectors, and this tragedy simply gave them the cover to pull the plug on the "modern sporting rifles" section. Again, I'm sure they didn't simply burn or give away the guns; they have been sold to customers, or sold back to distributors--both at a huge profit.
