Disruptive Environment Courses-

These are not beginner level courses. I would say they are more like intermediate. We will not be going over reloads, parts of the gun, grip, etc. You should show up already having a solid foundation in basic weapons manipulation, trigger finger discipline, and an ability to recite and articulate the four firearm safety rules verbatim. Having attended a course from a recognized instructor (by our definition), is a pre-requisite. In lieu of that, recent LEO or MIL experience will suffice. A simple CHP course is not enough.

We will be pushing you mentally, physically, and tactically to put you in situations you will probably not ever find yourself in hopefully. The goal is not to do really cool things. The goal is to take you out of your comfort zone to create a disruption in your thought process, thus presenting an opportunity for you to exercise your problem solving skills in a stressful moment.

We are creating thinkers before shooters.

The course could probably best be describe as a training roller coaster ride where you will dip in and out of stress and have to make decisions and perform based on the environment, circumstances, and tools you are presented with.

Because of this, you need to be safe and proficient on the simple stuff. You also need to be in good enough physical shape to move around and break a sweat. You do not have to be a physical specimen, but you need to be able to get in unique positions, run, lift, jump, climb, and maintain stamina and physical and mental focus in a very hot climate.

Point is, do an honest self-assessment and make sure you are physically, mentally, and skillfully ready for this level of training.

There is nothing wrong with taking a basic level course more than once. After 15 years of teaching, I still take basic level courses when I can because we can always use more reinforcing of the basics.

Who Should Take this Course:

Who should take this course? ANyone who carries a handgun professionally or for personal defense- basically anyone with already sound fundamentals and safe weapons handling skills. We all operate in and around vehicles as part of our daily lives. It is probably that we will be the potential victim of violence in that environment. For some people who use a vehicle extensively for work, almost like an office, the threat is even higher. WIth road rage, random violence, etc... your vehicle is an environment you need to work on mastering.
