Except for my probationary year (academy and first 6 months on the street) I carried a Colt 1911 (Government Model in uniform and Commander as a detective and training officer). If I was to get back into LE, highly unlikely at my age and physical condition (disabled), I would still want to carry a 1911 of some persuasion.
