Wish this could be more helpful but, a dovetail scope mount won't keep the scope in place for very long with any amount of recoil. It is a weak clamping system and recoil from a shotgun will slide the scope off the dovetail. If you want to scope a shotgun you will need rings that mount direction to the picitinny rail. That is why dovetail mounts are for rimfire only.
