twobit The place I use in Texas charges sales tax. It is a one horse town so I have no other store to compare it to as to whether they should or should not charge sales tax.
You don't need to look at any other stores.........the State of Texas does NOT charge sales tax on a firearm transfer....only on the SALE of a firearm.

The State Comptroller Newsletter repeats this notice quite often:
