No I do not find take down of a semi any different than a pump. If you can do one, you won't have problems with the other.

If you have problems you can always look on YouTube, somebody there I'm sure has a video on the gun your considering.

I've only owned two shotguns in my life. My first one was a Winchester 1100, a practical HD pump. Had it for about 20 years.

About 3 years ago I upgraded to a semi Mossberg 930SPX. I am very pleased with mine. And it was definately an upgrade well worth the money.
