I love my P226s. I have one with diamond plate slide and another with all black nitron finish. Both with 4.4" bbls. and 15 rd. mags. The diamond plate has alumimum grips and a short trigger. The nitron with std. trigger and poly grips. They handle great and shoot small groups.
I've had two different Hi-Powers in the past a 9mm and a .40SW. Nothing bad to say other than get the bobbed or skeltonized rounded hammer unless you like a hole punched in the web of your shooting hand from a slightly too high grip position. Otherwise a high quality accurate handgun.
