The trigger shoe IS worth it. With a pistol grip and the original trigger, you get stabbed in the finger pretty much. The trigger shoe gives a nice flat surface to pull on, and the pull/break feels better. The original trigger is meant for a stock with no pistol grip, and as such as designed for your hand to be at that angle.
